Brain Injury Survivor Laura Moore Shares Her Powerful Story

(cjonline) – At the age of 16, Laura Moore sustained a severe brain injury after a casual four-wheel drive went wrong. The front axle of the four-wheel broke, catapulting her onto her head and damaging her frontal and temporal lobes, which affected her emotional regulation and memory.

But 23 years later, Moore is achieving everything she once thought she wouldn’t while being a strong advocate for brain injury awareness. “Fortunately for me, those are the last parts of your brain that develop. So, because I was 16, it wasn’t fully developed,” Moore Moore told The Capital-Journal.

“And while my injury was very serious, initially doctors were struggling to stabilize me, but I recovered fully and I’m still recovering every day.” CONTINUE
