(Metro) – This 12-year-old girl was left fighting for her life after being hit by a car but it could have been so much worse. Poppy Jackson was cycling home from school when she was knocked over by a Toyota Aygo.
Thankfully, Poppy was wearing a cycle helmet but the impact on her head fractured her skull.
She has since made a good recovery but Poppy’s mother Caroline is warning other parents to stay vigilant about their children’s safety.
Ms Jackson said a neurologist believed it could have been ’10 times worse or even fatal’ had Poppy not been wearing a helmet. CONTINUE
