(South Bend Tribune) – Matthew Brewster has had a long journey. Now he wants to show support for a place that helped him on his road to recovery. The place is Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, which was formerly known as the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
He is hoping to raise $10,000 for the rehab center. He started off the fundraiser in December with a haircut. Maybe a bit more than a trim. Shaving his head revealed the scars from brain surgeries.
Matthew said he was very interested in seeing the shape of his head. His hopes were that it would be like dad’s. “My dad (Bill) has a great head.”
Matthew said he followed in Dad’s footsteps, or something like that.
This story started seven years ago. Matthew suffered a massive hemorrhage from a torn artery one morning before going off to Adams High. CONTINUE
