Lawson Smith

(Daily Mail) – A skateboarder who suffered a catastrophic brain injury has found a new calling after his family handed him his a paint brush to help with his recovery.

Lawson Smith from Bunbury, Western Australia, fell from his board without a helmet and suffered a serious head injury, leaving him in a wheelchair and unable to speak.

His family was told keeping him in an aged care home was the best option for long-term care, but his mother Sara Davies brought him back home after a year.

Ms Davies said after giving him paint brushes they saw ‘subtle but incredible’ improvements in Mr Smith’s rehabilitation. CONTINUE
