Brain Injured Cyclist Showing Signs of Progress

(Ramona Sentinel) – While injured bicyclist Michelle Scott of Ramona inches toward recovery, a suspect arrested in connection to her hit-and-run case, Chase Richard, is nearing trial on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.

The jury trial for Richard, 35, is set to start Friday, July 24, in San Diego Superior Court, East County Division. Judge Evan Kirvin will preside starting at 9 a.m. in court number CE395238.

Richard is charged with two counts of felony hit-and-run resulting in injury or death, and misdemeanor charges related to reckless driving, destroying/concealing evidence, tampering with a vehicle or its contents, and receiving stolen property. He is being detained at the George Bailey Detention Facility in San Diego on $2 million bail. CONTINUE
