(YouTube) – Last week, Bobby Schindler testified before the Texas House Public Health Committee on the state’s “10 Day Rule.”
Bobby testified in part, “No other state has laws that so flagrantly violate the patient’s right to life and places a stain on the constitutional right to due process.
“Texas needs to adopt comprehensive reform of the 10-Day Rule to protect patients’ rights, restore patients’ autonomy, and create an even playing field so that these critical medical decisions are not left in the hands of strangers.” WATCH TESTIMONY

WASHINGTON, April 14, 2021 / — Today, Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network’s President Bobby Schindler will testify concerning Texas House Bill 2609, which seeks to end the 10-Day Rule of the Texas Advance Directive Act (TADA). The 10-Day Rule allows a hospital to unilaterally authorize withdrawal or withholding of a patient’s life-sustaining treatment that is not based on medical determinations but rather value judgments focused on “quality of life.”
Schindler will testify in part:
“No other state has laws that so flagrantly violate the patient’s right to life and places a stain on the constitutional right to due process. Texas needs to adopt comprehensive reform of the 10-Day Rule to protect patients’ rights, restore patients’ autonomy, and create an even playing field so that these critical medical decisions are not left in the hands of strangers.”
