Teen Motorsport Prodigy Learning to Walk, Talk, Eat After Crash

(Stuff) – Used to taking corners at the Pukekohe racetrack at speeds of up to 200kmh, no corner seemed too challenging for motorsport prodigy Thomas Boniface.

But on September 16, 2020, as he drove his 1.4 litre Holden Barina home from a petrol station just two days after receiving his restricted licence, a crash on the first bend almost killed him.

The now 17-year-old spent 73 days in a coma and his parents were told if Thomas lived he would be stuck in minimal consciousness, a severe state impacting one’s awareness. CONTINUE
