‘Grateful to Be Alive,’ Says Man After ‘Miracle’ Brain Injury Recovery

(Independent.ie) – Gary Reynolds knows he is lucky to be alive. He also knows that he comes from a very special community.

On May 22 this year, the 20-year-old Donegal man was working in Boston when he suffered a serious brain injury after falling from a truck.

The apprentice metal fabricator had been in the US city for six weeks and was due to return home two days later. All that changed after the accident, and Gary’s family was told to expect the worst.

However, he was allowed to return to Ireland last month and his recovery has amazed his doctors. CONTINUE
