Central Texas Woman Making Remarkable Recovery After Brain Injury


(CBS Austin) — Six months after a traumatic brain injury sent a Central Texas woman to the ICU she’s making a remarkable recovery.

If you passed Amy Holland on the Hamilton Greenbelt trail in Lakeway you’d never know last September she suffered a traumatic brain injury in a cycling crash. The 62-year-old breast cancer survivor was participating in a 50-mile breast cancer charity bike ride on her birthday when things took a turn.

“I don’t really know all the details but next thing I know I’m in ICU,” she recalled. After two weeks in intensive care, she moved to St. David’s Rehabilitation Hospital. CONTINUE
