Royals Pitcher Suffers Head Fractures After Being Hit by a 106 MPH Batted Ball

(Sports Injury Central) – Kansas City Royals pitcher Ryan Yarbrough suffered multiple head fractures when he was hit in the head by a 106 mph batted ball on Sunday.

The good news so far is Yarbrough did not require emergency surgery and is not at risk for brain damage, according to the Pro Baseball Docs at Sports Injury Central.

The 31-year-old left-hander was able to walk off under his own power but has remained in the hospital for more observation and tests.

Based on the information so far, his life is not in danger and he should make a full recovery. He was reportedly hit near the temple on the left side of his face.

The question at this point is when he will return, not if. CONTINUE
