WASHINGTON DC, Nov. 13, 2023 – The Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network strongly condemns the intentional killing of Indi Gregory against the wishes of her mother and father.
As in the past UK cases of Charlie Gard and Alfie Evans, the issue is not about rationing, limited resources, or life support. It is about judges and doctors posing as sorrowful moral truth-seekers, deciding what makes a life worth living.
Bobby Schindler, President of the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network stated, “We simply need to decide whether parents have an inalienable right to care for their children, or are we better off in a society where government officials are encouraged literally to separate loved ones from each other?”
8-month-old Indi Gregory suffered from a rare degenerative mitochondrial disease. She had been on a ventilator at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, England. Her parents wanted the chance to provide available treatment to help Indi’s illness.
Schindler continued, “Whether in the UK or at home in the US, the issue is whether universal healthcare means that bureaucrats and courts will decide appropriate medical treatment, or if family members will be permitted to care for their loved ones.”
The Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network upholds human dignity through service to the medically vulnerable. Since 2005, the Life & Hope Network has responded to requests from over 4,000 families, supporting them with advocacy, guidance, and resources at no charge.
