‘He’s Never Going to Give Up’: Father on Son’s Recovery From Brain Injury


WTAE) — Mason Martin continues to exhibit signs of improvement, according to his father, five months after he suffered a traumatic brain injury and collapsed on a football field in Karns City.

“The small incremental movements are very rewarding,” Denny Martin said in an exclusive interview with Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 on Monday. “But at the same time, you kind of get greedy. You want more.”

Martin spoke to Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 outside UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, where Mason is continuing his rehabilitation.

“[Mason has] an hour of speech therapy every day, he has an hour of occupational therapy every day, and he has an hour of physical therapy every day,” Martin said. CONTINUE
