
(Big Country News) – On August 10th, Forest Service firefighter Justin Shaw was severely injured while responding to a new wildfire on the Salmon River Ranger District.
Shaw was struck by a falling tree during initial attack operations and was quickly airlifted to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho, before being transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington.
Justin is now continuing his recovery at Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colorado. Justin’s family, Joe and Dawn Shaw, have provided an update on his condition: CONTINUE
