(Palm Beach Post) – As John Gibson took the starting line of the TCS New York City Marathon on Nov. 3, he prepared to take a triumphant step in his four-year journey of recovery from a traumatic brain injury.
What followed was 26.2 miles of pure gratitude for the 31-year-old runner from West Palm Beach.
Gibson has spent most waking moments since February 2020 recovering the injury. For nearly a year after falling and sustaining a massive concussion, any type of exercise would amplify Gibson’s post-concussion symptoms. The migraines, blurry vision and pressure in his head made it impossible for the once-active Gibson to do what he loved. CONTINUE
