Support the Vulnerable this Giving Tuesday!

On this year’s Giving Tuesday, we remember and honor my sister, Terri — whose 61st birthday would have been today.

This special Giving Tuesday marks a celebration of Terri’s life and a critical moment for the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network to ask for your support. We know that you are receiving appeals from deserving organizations today. However, unlike most nonprofits, the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network makes few appeals throughout the year.

And while we remain humbled by the incredible generosity of all our faithful donors who have and continue to support our ministry, today is one of those rare occasions when we turn to you for help. As we reflect on the work we’ve done over the past 19 years advocating for the medically weak, we are reminded of the countless lives we’ve touched. But there is so much more to be done.

Your contribution today will directly support families facing a medical crisis, those who need legal advocacy, and individuals who, like Terri, deserve to be treated with dignity, care, and respect.

For those who don’t remember, in 1990, Terri experienced an unexplained brain injury while at home with her husband, Michael Schiavo. In 2000, Michael, Terri’s guardian and estranged husband, received court permission to dehydrate her to death. My family did all we could to stop it from happening.

After Terri’s inhumane death in 2005, we established the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network forming the 24/7 National Crisis Lifeline to serve as patient advocates for our medically vulnerable. Since then, we’ve worked tirelessly to provide the support and guidance these individuals and their families desperately need.

What you might not know is how critical this work has become. In an age where euthanasia and “imposed death” are increasingly being accepted as forms of medical treatment – like dehydrating a person to death through the removal of a feeding tube’s food and water – the need for compassionate, patient-centered care is urgent – more than ever.

Your contribution to our Giving Tuesday campaign helps ensure we are equipped to serve those in crisis, affirm life for the most medically defenseless among us, and serve as a witness for life and hope as society shifts toward policies that devalue their worth and treat their lives as expendable.

It can also be a donation to remember my sister on what would have been her birthday!

I’m asking you to make a gift before midnight, using any of the links. I am available by email (bschindler@lifeandhope.com) or phone (855-300-4673) if you have any questions or if you would like to talk.

The life-affirming work of the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network and it 24/7 National Crisis Lifeline has helped save and change countless lives for the better over the past decade.

I appreciate anything you can contribute.

God bless you,
Bobby Schindler
