Mercer Mom Credits Daughter for Brain Injury Recovery


(KFYR) – A mother’s love knows no limits, and one Mercer woman says a mother’s love can also motivate us to do hard things. Shauntaye Kopecky suffered a traumatic brain injury when she was in a car crash in December 2020. She was eight months pregnant at the time.

The good news: both she and her daughter survived. Shauntaye said it’s a testament to a mother’s love. Shauntaye always dreamed about moments like reading books with her daughter.

“I love it so much,” she said. Ever since she was a little girl, Shauntaye wanted to be a mom. But her road to motherhood has been filled with detours and roadblocks. In December 2020, when she was eight months pregnant, Shauntaye was in a serious car crash. CONTINUE
