(10News) – A family from Farragut is standing by the hospital bed of their 9-year-old son after he was hit by debris during an EF-2 tornado in Paducah, Kentucky, in April. Bentley White has a traumatic brain injury, his dad said, caused by what he thinks could have been a piece of plywood.
Bentley’s father, Thomas White, hasn’t left his son’s side. He said Bentley had a fractured skull from the debris, and one-third of his skull had to be removed. A later surgery will be scheduled at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
“What we’re trying to hold on to is all the positive things that are going on around us,” White said. “The ultimate thing we’re waiting for is him to wake up and be back fully with us.” CONTINUE
