(IndyStar) – A gun fell out of a purse, then everything went blank. “I woke up in the hospital two weeks later,” Erica Scott told IndyStar.
Scott had a rare night of freedom while her three young children visited family ahead of Christmas Eve 2023. She went out by herself, but saw people she knew along the way and spent the night dancing and socializing.
Instead of opening presents with her kids on Christmas morning, she was lying comatose in a hospital bed after being shot in the head. Scott was one of 614 people who survived being shot in Indianapolis that year. CONTINUE
