Andy’s Summer of Miracles: CCSO Deputy Still Recovering From Brain Injury


(Citrus County Chronicle) – On Aug. 4, as Andy Lahera began his hyperbaric chamber therapy session, the technician asked if he wanted to watch a movie or listen to music. From the left side of his mouth he said, “Music,” and then chose Creedence Clearwater Revival, one of his favorite bands.

“We get him settled in – I usually sit right next to him just because I like to monitor it myself, and they monitor him from cameras above as well,” Michelle Lahera said in a phone interview Saturday from the rehabilitation facility where her husband is recovering from a traumatic brain injury.

“All of a sudden I look up and I see him mouthing the words to ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain?’ and I start yelling at all of them, ‘He’s singing! He’s singing!’ CONTINUE
