(The Times) – Predictably, having a brain injury means spending a lot of time at home. Perhaps that’s why Patrick Charnley’s north London pad, where he lives with his wife, 14-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son, is so tasteful.

On the short walk from his front door through to his kitchen I spy dark cabinets, glowing candles, plush sofas, a log-burner, moss-coloured walls and two types of patterned wallpaper, one featuring books and the other red grapefruit halves. Rain hammers against the sloped conservatory roof. It’s the kind of place that gets a spread in House & Garden magazine. CONTINUE
