(SOOTODAY) – An ATV accident in 2010 changed a Sault woman’s life in more ways than one. “I had a concussion and I injured my neck and back pretty badly, so that sent me to hospital in Sudbury,” Chantal Scopacasa told SooToday.
She went through a long recovery process before she regained her mobility. There were no permanent injuries resulting from her concussion. “I got pretty lucky because I accessed the appropriate rehab immediately in Sudbury,” Scopacasa said, recalling her accident and recovery.
“They have so many more brain injury resources in Sudbury and that led me to looking into if we had a brain injury organization here in the Sault. We did, but it was small.” That led to a career change for her. CONTINUE
