Using Art to Heal Traumatic Brain Injury


(NEWS 15) — Traumatic Brain Injury, or TBI, has affected scores of Acadiana families, who often find few resources for dealing with its lasting impacts, but creativity might just be the key to managing its effects.

BJ Smith, 35, suffered a catastrophic brain injury when he was 15 years old. He said the details of what happened remain unclear to him, but the recovery process has been challenging.
