(KTVT) — A Texas high school track coach is home from the hospital two months after he was seriously injured in a freak accident at a track meet. Coach Blake Crutsinger was hit in the head by a shot put at a track meet this spring.
His family said his recovery has been nothing short of remarkable, especially with the support from their community. Crutsinger had extreme swelling of his brain and had to have part of his skull removed. “That was terrifying. That was a long, hard day,” his wife, Leslie Crutsinger, said. The family knew it would be a long road to recovery, but Blake Crutsinger has surprised everyone with his resilience.
“I mean, with the brain injury, you just never know … he’s done everything so much faster than anybody thought he would. And continues to do that and to prove people wrong,” Leslie Crutsinger said. CONTINUE
