Miss Florida Discusses Home-State Miss America Competition and Advocacy


(The Boca Raton Tribune) — Friday evening, The Boca Raton Tribune interviewed Alexandra de Roos, Miss Florida at the Miss America Red Carpet event in West Palm Beach ahead of Sunday’s Miss America competition.

Roos is the founder of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, The Blue Project. The Blue Project began after she survived a traumatic brain injury that ended her ballet career five years ago in which transformed her recovery into an advocacy mission. The organization is dedicated to brain injury education resilience, and the healing power of the arts.

Through legislative advocacy, hospital outreach, public speaking, and educational initiatives, she has impacted lives nationwide while serving on Florida’s Brain Injury Advisory Board and the Brain Injury Association of America’s Speaker’s Bureau. CONTINUE
