(Detroit Free Press) – His skin is still warm to the touch. His heart continues to beat. But 16-year-old Titus Cromer Jr. is dead, doctors at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak told his family.
Because tests show no brain activity, even in the brain stem, Beaumont had planned to remove life support last week from the Lathrup Village teen who suffered an undisclosed brain injury Oct. 17.
Titus, a junior at University of Detroit Jesuit High School, and his family are Catholic, says Jim Rasor, an attorney representing the family, and they are fighting to keep him on a ventilator until they can move him to a long-term care facility.
Titus Jermaine Cromer Jr., 16, of Lathrup Village is on life support at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Doctors say he’s brain dead, but his family wants more time to see if he can recover from his injuries. CONTINUE
