Rep. Graves’ Son’s Recovery is ‘Exceeding Expectation’ After Serious Cycling Injury

(11 Alive) — One week after being critically injured in a cycling accident, Georgia Rep. Tom Graves says his son is recovering remarkably well.

Graves, who represents Georgia’s 14th congressional district in the northwest corner of the state, said his son John was injured in the Calhoun Downtown Criterium race and airlifted to a trauma unit last week. Graves’ son, John, is a member of Georgia Tech’s cycling team.

In an update, Graves tweeted that John was released from ICU and transferred to a brain and spinal clinic, where he is now undergoing physical, cognitive and speech rehabilitation. CONTINUE
