We regret to announce the postponement of Catholic Healthcare International’s (CHI) 1st Annual Conference on Unsettled Bioethics, originally scheduled to coincide with a Mass commemorating the 20th anniversary of my sister, Terri Schiavo’s death. This decision was made due to planned protests and attempts to disrupt the event.
While the bioethics conference will be rescheduled, the Terri Schiavo Open House and Mass will proceed as planned, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and ending with Mass celebrated by Cardinal Raymond Burke at 4:00 p.m. at the St. Mary Cathedral in Lansing, MI. Click here for information.
Unfortunately, a vocal minority, intent on undermining Terri’s memory, has decided to spread lies and false information. Among the most troubling of these attacks were the accusations aimed at Father Calvin Robinson and Cardinal Raymond Burke. These men, who have dedicated their lives to truth and service, are the targets of a vile smear campaign.
Despite these efforts to sow division at an event meant to honor a woman who was denied her basic human rights, we remain committed to honoring Terri’s life and defending the dignity of every human being.
We will share the new dates for the rescheduled bioethics conference as soon as they are confirmed.
