Wichita Teen Recovering From Brain Injury After Truck Crashes Into Home


(KWCH) – A family in Wichita is asking for help after their 18-year-old son suffered a severe brain injury. Deandre Rogers Jr. was sleeping in a home in west Wichita when a truck went off the road and crashed into the bedroom.

The teen’s mother, Leaundria Coleman, said he was taken to the hospital where he underwent emergency brain and skull surgery. “I never want to feel this pain again. I wouldn’t wish this on nobody,” said Coleman.

Deandre was also placed in a medically induced coma and put on a ventilator. Coleman said doctors found significant damage to the right side of Deandre’s brain. CONTINUE
