The Flexible Brain: Plasticity, Therapy, and Potential


Psychology Today – In the application of his particular form of physical therapy, psychiatrist and author Norman Doidge (2015) wrote of the Feldenkrais Method: “Feldenkrais said he wanted not flexible bodies but flexible brains (which would create flexible bodies).”

Doidge also describes how Feldenkrais was careful with his choice of words, particularly in relation to the application of his therapy.

In terms of therapy development, Moshé Feldenkrais was influenced by several factors. First, there was his passion and engagement with soccer, judo, and his studies in physics.
