(CHVN Radio) – The mother of 12-year-old Maya Gebala says her daughter has reached another milestone in her recovery, breathing on her own after doctors removed her breathing tube.
In a Facebook update shared Friday, March 6, Maya’s mother, Cia Edmonds, described the emotional moment as doctors tested whether her daughter could breathe independently.
“She had her breathing tube removed to see if she can breathe on her own… what a terrifying experience,” Edmonds wrote. “I held her hand while she winced, but she’s doing great. Best that could have been,” she wrote. CONTINUE
